New Heights, New Shoes: Men’s Pointe just got an Upgrade

Ballet’s gender norms are shifting, and more men are stepping—literally—onto pointe. Whether it’s for strength training, artistic exploration, or just curiosity, dancing en pointe isn’t just for ballerinas anymore.

The catch? Pointe shoes have always been designed for women’s feet. Until now.

Russian company Siberian Swan just announced “Rudolf”—the first pointe shoe made specifically for men. Designed for wider, longer, less flexible feet, the Rudolf features a roomier box, strong plastic shank, and a wider platform to support more weight and different anatomy.

Named after ballet icon Rudolf Nureyev, the shoe isn’t even out yet and already has dozens of pre-orders. Looks like guys are more than ready to rise to the challenge—on their toes.
